ABW Ministries

American Baptist Women (ABW) Ministries

The ABW Ministries group is a member of the American Baptist Women’s national organization. The mission of the national organization is stated as follows:

Mission
ABW Ministries is a Christ-centered ministry with a commitment to encourage and empower women and girls to serve God.

We invite all women to participate in ABW Ministries. Each woman is encouraged to participate according to her own needs, interests and gifts as lead by the Spirit. If you are interested, please contact any of the officers in our group and they will see that you are given a program book and will answer any questions you may have. We hope you will find time in your schedule to make this vital ministry in our church a priority and join us at any of our meetings.

The ABW Ministries supports many missions within our church as well as worthwhile missions locally for non-profits such as Caritas, Sparrow’s Nest, Family Promise, the Domestic Violence Shelter and Church Women United.

Annual Duties and Responsibilities within our Church:

1. We request that the ABW Ministries President represent the ABW Ministries group on our Church Council board each year.

2. Submit your Annual Report in December for inclusion in our church-wide Annual Report which is shared with our Congregation for review and discussion at our annual meeting in January.

3. ABW Ministries is considered an Auxiliary Group within our church and is authorized to use the resources of our church in accordance with our Church Policies and Procedures.
