Sunday School

First Baptist Church offers family friendly Christian Education programing, with Sunday school beginning at 10:45 a.m. (following our morning worship service).  Our adult Sunday school class meets year round, and our youth and children’s Sunday school classes begin in early fall and run through mid-May.  Each week, we offer Bible lessons that use stories, worksheets, and activities for our children’s classes, with additional video resources for our middle school and high school students.

For our Children’s classes, we begin each Sunday with 10 minutes of learning songs as a whole group, before then dividing into smaller age groups.  Each December, our children perform a Christmas pageant during the morning worship service.  In August, we hold our summer Bible school, which meets in the evenings and has a new theme each year.  We also have an extensive library where parents and students can check out books and videos/DVD’s to view at home.

Throughout the year, our children and youth also have a wonderful opportunity to attend our American Baptist church camp at Camp Tamarack, located in Waupaca, WI.  Children and youth from Grades 1 to 12 can attend throughout the summer, where life long friendships are often formed.  There is also a Family Camp offered each summer, and a Winter Retreat is offered each January for our high school students.  Please visit their website:  www.camptamarack.org  for further information and a list of dates that camp is offered.

Our youth group, F.L.A.S.H. (Faith and Love Allow for Strength and Hope) is offered for youth in Grades 5 to 12.  We meet twice monthly for Christian Fellowship and activities.  The youth group also works on various mission projects and offer support to our church family.  Each year we conduct a Youth Sunday worship service where the youth write their own sermons and share their talents with the whole congregation.

For adults, there are also weekly Bible studies, presentations from other ministry organizations (both local and international), and a series of learning opportunities.
